Oakworth came out on top against Ingrow St John’s in the Craven League battle to see who climbed to the Division One summit

Saints were struggling at 75-8 after a superb spell of bowling from Matt House (6-38), before a bit of tail-wagging pushed the final total to 124. But Gareth Marshall (43) and Michael Scarborough (35no) guided Oakworth to the points by seven wickets.

Crossflatts join St John’s in second place after they crushed Embsay by 127 runs.

The Rhysworth Park side batted first and built on a big opening partnership of 191 by M Adil and Rashid Ayub, with the former scoring 75 while Ayub crashed 16 fours and two sixes in a super knock of 110.

Cammy Ayub joined in with 44 as the total reached 287-7, with Aslam Hussain taking 5-70. The home side made 160 in reply, Nathan Robinson scoring 41 as M Bentham took 4-29.

Chris Hemsley (52) and Tom Keighley (46) helped Bingley Congs to 188-5. Visitors Thornton were quickly reduced to 17-4 and only a seventh-wicket stand of 67 by Luke Scothern (41) and Mark Paxton (26no) got them to 141-7 at the close against Matty Roberts (4-30) and Aidy Dibb (3-39).

Jamie Rowell was in sparkling form as Haworth brushed aside Bradley by nine wickets. First he took 7-38 off 13.5 overs as the hosts crumpled to 115 all out, before adding 75 not out as the Bronte side reached their target in the 28th over.

Haworth Road finished on 189-6 against Cullingworth, with M Zahid scoring 77. In reply, Cullingworth sauntered home by seven wickets, with Steve Welch making 75 not out, Adie Powis 44 and Chris Welch 32 not out.

The red rose derby between Foulridge (152-8) and Barrowford (140-8) went the way of the former by 12 runs.

Riddlesden nipped half a mile along the road to Airedale and shot out the home side for just 60 to win by nine wickets in Division Two.

Adam Khan (5-16) and M Zulfiqar (3-20) did the damage as the Grange Road side won with ease to become sole leaders of the section.

Previously undefeated Cowling crashed to a ten-wicket defeat at the hands of Sutton at Royd Hill. The visitors were hustled out for 95, Martyn Dalby making 41 and Ben Simons taking 3-20. Chris Williams (45no) and David Snowden (44no) then took the home side to the points.

Glusburn join Cowling in second spot after they saw off Pendle Forest by 81 runs. The visitors were restricted to 125 as A Khalid took 4-12 and Ryan Harris 3-45. But the hosts had no answer to Nick Williamson (5-12) and Mark Pickles (5-30) and were hustled out for 44.

Long Lee stay anchored to the foot of the table after losing by seven wickets at Ingrow. The Golden View side staggered to 108, Jamie Robinson top-scoring with 35 as Dale Hoyle took 6-44. Chris Herbert (44no) and Wayne Exley (23no) guided the Hainworth outfit to the spoils.

Denholme were in good form at home to Oakworth Seconds. New recruit Mark Jones hit 53 and Rob Taylor 40 as they reached 188, with Jack Ellis taking 4-35 and James Lee 4-49. The Wide Laners closed on 131 as Lee top-scored with 34 against R Judson (4-40) and Isaac Murray (3-9).

Barrowford Seconds skittled Wilsden for 66 thanks to Junaid Khan (3-6) and Majid Iqbal (3-11). Skipper Jonny Ormerod (32no) led his Bull Holme side to a comfortable nine-wicket victory.

Joint leaders Embsay Seconds and Sandy Lane both enjoyed victories to maintain their Division Three impetus.

The latter side were at home to Eldwick & Gilstead and would have been unhappy with their 104 as Simon Timperley (5-57) and Arnie Raistrick (5-24) led the bowling. But the visitors fell ten runs short of their target, despite 56 from J Keighley, as Steve Carass took 6-38 and Luke Ellis 4-20.

Embsay Seconds were at Crossflatts Seconds and staggered to 86-8 before Robin Youngman (64) and Paul Wormald (34no) put on 99 for the ninth wicket. Then number 11 Chris Beck crashed 39 not out to see the innings close on 232-9.

The nine-man home side were never in the hunt and closed on 88-8, with Nick Coward scoring 38 as John Metcalfe claimed 7-18 off 12.4 overs.

Haworth WE went down by seven wickets at Street Lane, with T Khan (6-44) and A Raza (42) starring for the Saints.

Wilsden Seconds popped down to Wagon Lane and saw off Bradford & Bingley Thirds by 116 runs, with M Kiyany (85) and I Khan (8-23) doing the business.

Haworth Road Seconds were knocked over for 84 at Baildon Bottom as Joel Granger took 6-8 in 5.1 overs. But Cononley were then hustled out for just 70, with Andy Maude taking 5-25 and Narinder Gata Aura 5-42.

Gargrave were rushed out for 52 by Chatburn, for whom Andy Booth took 5-18 and John Lockley 3-4. The Ribble Valley side lost four wickets reaching their target.

Skipton CI are setting the Division Four pace as they remain undefeated after beating Cullingworth Seconds at Sandylands.

Martin Seward made 55 and John Stuttard 30 as the home side scored 181-9 in their 45 overs. The Roydwood Terrace team replied with 131 as Stuttard took 7-32 off 20 overs.

League vice-chairman Brian Hollis, two weeks shy of his 60th birthday, made a stunning 102 as Glusburn Seconds rattled up 212-6 in their overs at Park Field against Pendle Forest Seconds.

Hollis and Phil Shackleton (61) put on 162 for the first wicket. The visitors were then restricted to 105-9 in their reply, with J Waring, D Mortimer and Hollis picking up three wickets each.

Thornton Seconds made 205-7 in their innings, with John Roughton making 59, Paul Ellis 45 and Tim Gates 30 as Charlie Raistrick claimed 3-18. Visitors Bingley Congs Seconds replied with 152.

Mick Hawkes (60 and 5-23) was the star of Long Lee II’s 26-run victory over Ingrow Seconds at Golden View.

Haworth Seconds clung on for a nine-run win at home to Bradley Seconds. J Lilley made 41 as the Bronte side totalled 119, with Tim Rudden bagging 4-46 and H Mcgowan 3-4.

With Alistair Harrison at the crease, the South Craveners were in with a chance. But he was finally dismissed for 74 and the innings closed on 110 as skipper Dave Walsh took 5-45 and Will Yildiz 3-26.

Riddlesden Seconds saw off Airedale Seconds by eight wickets at Grange Road, Danny Spencer starring for the hosts with 5-37 and an unbeaten 46.

Michael Gildea made 49 as Foulridge Seconds made 153-8 at Noyna in Division Five. In reply, Oakworth Thirds were dismissed for 82 as I Khaliq took 6-25 off 15 overs.

James Marshall took 6-50 as Cowling Seconds were all out for 123 (Ben Davy 51) at Keighley Road. Visitors Sutton Seconds ambled home by eight wickets, with M Allport scoring 48 not out.

Jake Parker (56) helped Cononley Seconds to an impressive 214-9 at home to Skipton CI. Then Jonathan Crossley (4-37), Tom Feather (3-15) and Crossley (3-15) had the visitors back in the hut for 105.

Marc Glover (56) and Damian Gupta (52) put on 126 for Chatburn Seconds’ first wicket, which set the platform for 208-5 as Tom Storr took 4-55. Visitors Gargrave Seconds, despite 42 from Ed Stanley and 36 by Pete Messenger, closed on 153-9, with Tom Bailey taking 4-42.

Denholme Seconds got the better of Haworth WE II by 56 runs. Adrian Shires’ 56 and Jack Harrison’s 39 saw the Keighley Road side to 156-7 as Pete Hatton took 4-75. The Penistone Park side closed on 100-8, with Harry Sherlock making 45 not out and Ian Spencer taking 6-47.
