Ben Burkhill starred in a thrilling Bradford Evening League game at Denholme that resulted in an unlikely one-wicket win against Salem Athletic.
Burkhill took 6-24 as the visitors were bowled out for 120. Chris Welch then made a fine 53 not out in reply but five run outs left Denholme struggling.
They needed three to win off the last ball but a wide was bowled and Katie Briggs was run out, which meant Welch came back in at the non-striker’s end.
With Burkhill (35no) on strike and now needing two for victory, he hit the extra delivery for four to seal a remarkable Division One victory.
Haworth Road, Thornton and Windhill all remain unbeaten after wins against Bingley Congs, Shelf and Apperley Bridge respectively.
Akhil Mukunden took four wickets for Allerton in a fine spell as John Breare were all out for 106, with Aaron Chapman (55no) contributing over half the total. Mohammed Saeed then hit 49 as Allerton won by seven wickets.
Azad remain top of Division Two after Tasir Javed’s excellent 3-4 return saw Cambing’s good run came to end as they were all out for 72. Azad chased down that total for the loss of four wickets.
Daisy Hill got off the mark by winning at Mayfield but Indian Panthers have still to break their duck after losing to Tong Park Esholt.
Ross Todd (50no) and Darren Wilson (44) helped set up an impressive 159-2 for Tong Park, before skipper Mahesh Patel made 37 as Panthers were all out for 81.
Ehan Butt (38no) carried his bat as a weakened Bolton Villas were dismissed for 79 by Smart Moves, who won by eight wickets.
Stonewhite beat previous Division Three leaders Keighley by two wickets – but not without a few jitters.
Chasing 89-6, they looked to be easing home at 84-4 but then lost four wickets before stumbling over the finishing line.
Wibsey Park Chapel take over at the top after bowling out Queensbury for 50. James Holdsworth (36no) led his side to a nine-wicket win inside five overs.
Consistent batting by Oakworth saw them reach 155-6 in 16 overs, with Jack Ellis (5-4) and Jack Davison (3-6) then ripping out Thackley for 61.
