Overseas batsman Fakhar Hussain equalled the Bradford League’s highest score of 214 as he helped Windhill to a 115-run win at bottom club Great Horton in the Second Division.

Hussain slammed 15 sixes and 20 fours as he matched the record set by Azam Khan playing for Hartshead Moor against Keighley in 1998. It was only the fifth individual score of more than 200 in the 110-year history of the league.

Windhill amassed 360-9 but Great Horton earned maximum batting points with a spirited 245-8 in reply.

Relegated Farsley and newcomers New Farnley continue to lead the way in Division Two. Farsley are top with 116 points after they maintained their 100 per cent record by beating Brighouse by 101 runs, while New Farnley defeated Idle by 46 runs.

The big surprise in the First Division was bottom club Saltaire’s first win of the season at Lightcliffe.

New overseas all-rounder Khuram Shahzad played a key role, leading them to their five-wicket win with an undefeated 64 as they reached their 222 target with three overs to spare and received good support from Irfan Amjad (56). Lightcliffe’s top scorers in their 221 all out were Suleman Khan with 66 and Oliver Robinson 62 as Tuseif Arshad took 4-33.

Overseas player Noman Ali produced a superb all-round performance as he led second-placed Manningham Mills to a 48-run win at home to Hanging Heaton. Ali made 51 supported by Zeeshan Qasim (42no) and Farhan Khan (38) as Mills reached 220.

Montcin Hodge (70) and Gary Fellows (42) gave Hanging Heaton a great start with an opening stand of 115 but the visitors collapsed after that and were bowled out for 172, with left-arm spinner Ali taking 6-49.

Promoted Morley replaced Saltaire at the foot of the table following their five-wicket defeat at home to Cleckheaton. They were bowled out for 126 after losing their last eight wickets for 32, with slow bowler Ammer Mahmood (3-12) doing the damage.

Off spinner Steve Watts took 5-45 as Pudsey St Lawrence gained an eight-wicket win over promoted Baildon in front of the Sky TV cameras at Tofts Road.

The visitors were dismissed for 143 and St Lawrence cruised to their target with opener Adam Waite making 47 and Callum Goldthorp 32 not out.

Pudsey Congs beat Bradford & Bingley by 19 runs in a high-scoring match at Wagon Lane. Congs had three half century-makers, Barbar Butt (60), Andrew Bairstow (52) and Eugene Burzler (51no), as they reached 232-5.

Phil Slater gave Bingley a good start with 74 out of 110. Ryan Cooper (74) kept them in the hunt after Slater was out and at 197-4 they were in with a great chance, but they then lost three wickets at that total, including Cooper, and had to settle for 213-8.
