Great Horton Church’s lead at the top of Group A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League was cut to just six points after they were held to a dramatic tie.

Batting first, Church looked to be out of it when they were dismissed for just 79, Iftekhar Ahmed taking 5-9, but Imran Khan then responded with 5-28 as Salem Athletic were also dismissed for 79.

Hallfield gained their first win of the season thanks to Faisal Usman, who hit 43 in his side’s 109 all out and then took 4-15, including a hat-trick, to see Girlington all out for 66.

Interlink are second after they defeated Heaton (137 all out, Rajat Ali 76) by five wickets. Munaf Navsarka scored 50 not out in reply.

Shaeel Arshad of Cambing took 4-53 as Omars were all out for 127 but it was not enough, as Cambing replied with 83 all out.

Bradford Moor YCA gained victory in the final over against Bradford Gymkhana.

Gymkhana made 165-8, with Mohammed Shoib scoring 70, Bradford Moor passing the score with the last pair at the wicket in the last over, with Ghazanfar Khan making 50.

In Group B, Apperley Bridge maintained their 100 per cent record with a 125-run win over Bowling Baptist. Tahir Khan scored 80 in Apperley’s 179 all out and then took 4-8 as Baptists were all out for 54.

Bradford Gymkhana moved up to second following a 98-run win over Cross Roads & Daisy Hill. Gymkhana racked up 234-9, Sohail Javed scoring 45. Daisy Hill captain Byron Greenwood led from the front with 54 in their 136 all out, Zafran Dawood taking 4-15.

Salem Athletic made 188-9 against Allerton, with Abdus Samad scoring 59, Azhar Ali then taking 4-24 to dismiss Allerton for 122.

Greenfield (167, Mazar Iqbal 82 and Ibrar Hussain 53) defeated Yorkshire LPS (89, Faraz Zafar 4-9) by 78 runs.

Rizwan Mushtaq of Girlington made 74 in their 219 all out at Mayfield, who were all out for 157 in reply.

In Group C, Mandhata are now leaders outright after they defeated West Bowling and Great Horton Church lost to Hallfield.

Batting first Mandhata made 90 all out, Mohammed Rafiq taking 5-26 for West Bowling. But 5-14 from Nitesh Lad saw West Bowling fall short on 65 all out.

Great Horton Church lost by just four runs against Hallfield as the visitors made 87 and Church were all out for 82 in reply.

VVS Laxman scored 161 at Cambing, with R Patel scoring 70, and then dismissed the home side for 86, Awais claiming 4-19.

Great Horton Meths had an easy eight-wicket victory over Bradford Indians.

In Group D, Central YMCA stay top after dismissing Great Horton Meths B for 32, Steve Totthill taking four wickets for no runs. YMCA passed the score with one wicket down.

Mayfield B failed to raise a team against Muff Field B.
