The Hawks were watched by a sizeable crowd when they faced West Riding at Arthington Cricket Club and came away with a narrow victory.
Batting first, Riding were soon 18-4 as the hosts caught their catches for once and they were dismissed for 85, Ryan Baines top-scoring with 25.
Neil Kinnock took 2-12, Simon Armitage 2-3, Josh Dracup 2-27 and young Sammy Woodley 2-19.
The Hawks looked to be cruising to victory at 50-2 but a typical collapse left the hosts on 85-9 before Charlie Dracup smacked his first ball to the boundary to seal victory.
S Sandhu did most damage for the visitors, taking 3-1.
Ted Lester made 51 before retiring, with the next highest score being Ollie Woodley with seven.
This Saturday, the Hawks travel to Thorp Perrow to take on the Penguins (1.30pm).
