Four Bradford & District Evening League games survived the weather.
In Division One, overseas star Jeremy Smith continued his impressive form as he composed a stylish half century in Shelf’s 146-1.
Imran Bhatti (39no) ably supported Smith against some wayward John Breare bowling.
However, Breare’s batsman rose to the challenge as Peter Kempton (33) and Tom Simpson (50no) put on 88 for the first wicket.
Tahir Abbas took three wickets to help restrict the run flow, but Breare required six to win off the last ball. A scampered single meant that Shelf emerged winners by five runs in a pulsating game.
Umer Khatab (3-3) and Mohammad Waqas (3-19) ripped the heart out of Apperley Bridge’s batting, with only Shokat Ali (30) and namesake Mohammed Waqas (25) providing resistance as they were dismissed for 93.
Shahid Iqbal (38) led the reply as Salem won by seven wickets in 13.1 overs.
No games took place in Division Three, but two matches survived the weather in Division Two.
Two previously unbeaten teams, Bolton Villas and Azad, clashed, and Villas must have felt confident after restricting the visitors' powerful batting line up to 109-7.
Opener Michael Clarke (32) laid a solid platform, well supported by new recruit Adam Slater (26).
However, three wickets to Farhan Saeed kept Azad in the game and they eventually emerged triumphant by 14 runs.
Jake Green’s 3-24 helped keep nine-man Mayfield to 81-7.
Two early wickets had Cambing rocking but Junaid Khan (24no) and Yassir Ali (37) steadied the ship as Cambing secured their second win of the season by seven wickets.
