Farsley extended JCT600 Bradford League Division Two’s only 100 per cent record to six matches as they regained top spot from newcomers New Farnley, who lost for the first time.

Ian Philliskirk (3-22) and Chris Henry (3-38) bowled out basement side Great Horton for 96 before Mark Harrison (30) and Joe Greaves (30) helped Farsley to their victory target with seven wickets to spare.

New Farnley were defeated by Spen Victoria in a match reduced to 20 overs a side.

Spen Victoria made 104-6 before bowling out the home outfit for 93, with Rob Warriner (3-19) and Rob Burton (3-22) doing the damage.

The win completed a double for the visitors because their second team had ended New Farnley’s unbeaten start on the same ground the previous Saturday.

Low scores were the order of the day. Windhill were bowled out for just 78 as they suffered a nine-wicket def-eat against Gomersal.

Left-arm spinner Chris Rhodes (4-15) and James Russell (3-22) did the damage and then opener Andy Gorrod hit an unbeaten 38 to steer his side home.

Bowling Old Lane’s veteran seamer Zubair Najeeb took 5-31 as he and Arslan Ijaz dismissed Bankfoot for just 90.

Old Lane’s impressive overseas player Devraj Patel made an unbeaten 55 to help the hosts ease to a seven-wicket win.

Hartshead Moor were frustrated at home to Idle, where they dismissed the visitors for 125.

But they received 14 fewer overs than their rivals and finished agonisingly short on 114-7, so they had to settle for three points for an incomplete match plus the five bowling points they had earned, with Danny Squire taking 3-28.

The wet weather put paid to two matches.

Brighouse versus Keighley and Yeadon against Undercliffe were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
