Yorkshire are closing in on LV= County Championship victory over Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
The Bears have tumbled to 101-8 at tea on day three with two more wickets for Ryan Sidebottom and three for Steve Patterson, both of whom have been excellent in bowling a fuller length than the hosts did.
Warwickshire began their second innings 279 runs in arrears, and slipped to 9-3 at lunch. The hosts have been unable to recover.
Sidebottom, who had struck before lunch, trapped Tim Ambrose lbw to leave the score at 40-4 before Patterson ripped out Chris Woakes’s middle stump.
Jim Troughton also fell lbw to Sidebottom for 37, as did Rikki Clarke to Patterson to leave the score at 89-7 in the 35th.
Patterson then had Jeetan Patel caught at short extra cover by Liam Plunkett in the penultimate over of the session.
