Three clubs remain unbeaten at the top of Division Two after the latest round of Bradford Evening League games.
Jonathan Baines top-scored with 32 in a healthy 135-5 total for Tong Park Esholt. But Azad possess a strong batting line-up and Mazhar Mir (32) led them to a five-wicket win.
Asad Abbas (46no) and Yunis Bismillah (34no) continued their good form as Smart Moves overhauled Indian Panthers’ 113-6 for the loss of just three wickets.
Bolton Villas (97-7) beat Mayfield (80-4) by 17 runs to join the teams with a 100 per cent record.
Cambing were comprehensive eight-wicket winners against Daisy Hill as, chasing the visitors’ 96-4, Fazal Wazir (42no) led the way home.
The highlight in Division Three saw Stonewhite apparently well set at 75-1 chasing Wibsey Park Chapel’s 130-6.
But a double-wicket maiden by Baber Yaqoob (3-19) – who had previously made 52 not out – along with a five-wicket Nasir Chowdrey return, restricted the home side to 110-9.
Queensbury (127-5) were 30-run winners at Thackley (97-8) thanks to a fine 48 from opener Richard Moore, while Keighley (127-3) continued their impressive start with a 39-run victory at Shipley Providence (88-6).
Salem Athletic’s batsmen were in the runs, posting a hefty 198-3 (Waheed Ur Rahman 51no, Mohammed Bilal 51no, Shahid Iqbal 44) as they took advantage of the small boundaries to win at Allerton (123-7 – Rab Nawaz 50no, Abdul Hakeem 4-9) in Division One.
Bingley Congs struggled for runs against some tight bowling from Apperley Bridge, Sudersahn Alwat top-scoring with 26 in a 106-7 total.
But the home side struggled as well after Shokat Ali (39) was dismissed with the score on 84-5, before Mohammed Kurshid (23) saw his side home with eight balls to spare.
Defending champions Haworth Road were eight-wicket winners at home to Shelf. Andrew Gudgeon took 3-18 in restricting the visitors to 107-8, Jeremy Smith making a half-century on his debut.
Windhill continued their solid start, overhauling John Breare’s 123-5 for the loss of three wickets, while Thornton (104-5) won by eight runs in a tight match at Denholme (96-7).
