Yorkshire will end their three-day friendly against Lancashire by gaining some time in the middle with the bat at Headingley.
Both sides started day three having agreed to bat for 45 overs each without taking into account the first innings scores.
Lancashire declared their second innings on 163-3, including 89 for Tom Smith, 45 for Karl Brown, 2-23 from ten overs for Tim Bresnan and a wicket for Adil Rashid.
The White Rose have since reached tea on 72-1 from 13 overs.
Joe Root will resume this evening on 23 not out and Phil Jaques unbeaten on nine.
Adam Lyth was the only Yorkshire wicket to fall when he slashed an Adnan Ghaus delivery to point.
