Farsley Celtic have finalised a date with MK Dons for their FA Cup first-round tie at Throstle Nest.

The game will now take place on Sunday, November 12 with a 3pm kick-off.

After seeking advice from West Yorkshire Police and having discussions with Coca-Cola League Two outfit MK Dons, it was sensible to stage the match, which will also be all-ticket, on the Sunday.

"Our chairman (Andy Firbank) has agreed to send 750 tickets down to Milton Keynes and if they are sold another 250 will be dispatched," said Celts manager Lee Sinnott.

"At our own club, tickets will be on sale from Saturday (Farsley are at home to Alfreton Town in Conference North on November 4) and it will be on a first come first served' basis.

"The Fire Brigade and the Police have still to inspect our ground and give us a definite capacity, so at this stage we don't know exactly how many tickets will be available.

"If MK Dons take up all their allocation, we still hope there will be enough to go around.

"We are happy to play on the Sunday as it will prevent us clashing with Leeds United, Bradford City, Huddersfield Town and Halifax Town."

Sinnott revealed that the authorities, including the Football Association, were also pleased Farsley had avoided playing on the same day.

"There are already eight sets of supporters in a small area of West Yorkshire on the same day at the same time," he said.

"Farsley coming to a standstill and droves coming up the M1 from Milton Keynes would add to the problems. That is why the police and the FA were keen for us to switch the tie from the Saturday."

The Celts earned the right to take on the Dons after a 2-1 victory over Cambridge City on Saturday.

The Throstle Nest clubhouse was in buoyant mood as the draw was made on live television soon after the game.

"I was in a quiet little room with the headphones on, wired up for a live radio broadcast, but I could hear the roar go up even from there," said Sinnott.

"We are very happy with the draw. There are two things you want when you reach the first round: a home tie and to play a side from the Football League - and we have got both."
