Jon McLaughlin recovered from his sore hip to retain his place in City's goal at Oxford this afternoon.
But there were two changes from the side that made it four home wins on the trot against Morecambe in midweek.
Will Atkinson had looked very bright coming off the bench on Tuesday and was rewarded with a start in place of Zavon Hines as Phil Parkinson went for a more conservative approach in midfield.
Nahki Wells also returned in place of Alan Connell up front. Oxford's side included a debut for former Bantam Luke O'Brien.
CITY: McLaughlin, McArdle, Oliver, Davies, Meredith, Atkinson, Jones, Doyle, Reid, Wells, Hanson. Subs: Darby, Ravenhill, Thompson, Connell, Hines, McHugh.
