Eccleshill United will be hoping to prove that last week’s victory at Division One leaders Athersley Recreation was no flash in the pan as they aim for a further Baris Northern Counties League tonic.

Athersley remain top the table despite that 3-1 defeat, while the Eagles are hardly soaring as they currently occupy 18th spot.

Tomorrow they host Bottesford Town, who are seven places higher and, like Eccleshill, have games in hand on most sides above them.

The Eagles will be hoping talisman Charlie Flaherty is on song as, whether playing in midfield or up front, he makes them tick. He is also the club’s leading scorer this term.

Albion Sports did themselves a power of good with a 4-0 home win last night night and will be looking to build on that when they travel to Dinnington Town.

Albion boss Kulwinder Sandhu said: “It was a good win against a good side (fourth-placed Cleethorpes Town) but we deserved it.

“We won’t have Roy Stamer or Graham Sides for this game though, as Roy is back in Germany and Graham is at a wedding.”

Brighouse Town are looking to bounce back from two Premier Division defeats as they host mid-table Arnold Town.

Town have gone off the boil since climbing to the summit by being the first club to top 20 points and have slipped to fourth place.

Thackley travel to Heanor Town for a mid-table battle and the clubs could hardly be closer.

The Derbyshire hosts are above the Dennyboys on goal difference only as both clubs have banked 12 points from eight starts.

Thackley’s neighbours Liversedge face a tough trip to leaders Worksop Parramore, who are a point clear but need a win to stay on top as the second and third-placed clubs – Scarborough Athletic and Bridlington Town – both have a game in hand on them.

On the other hand, Sedge know that if they pick up even a draw it would take them above Thackley should their local rivals suffer defeat at Heanor.
