Phil Parkinson made a big pre-match call by changing goalkeepers for City's trip to Accrington this afternoon.

Jon McLaughlin was handed his first league start of the season as Matt Duke paid the price after last week's 4-0 thrashing at Rotherham.

McLaughlin had played previously in the Capital One Cup win at Watford but Duke has been between the sticks for the rest of the games.

The keeper switch was one of three changes with Parkinson also shuffling the formation to 4-3-3.

Stephen Darby returned at right back in place of Rory McArdle who, like Duke, could feel hard done by to make way.

And Will Atkinson was promoted from the bench in a three-man midfield alongside Gary Jones and Nathan Doyle.

Nahki Wells, who has been troubled by a hip problem, made way. Instead, James Hanson was flanked either side up front by wingers Kyel Reid and Zavon Hines.

Young midfielder Scott Brown was named among the substitutes.

CITY: McLaughlin, Darby, Oliver, Davies, Meredith, Doyle, Atkinson, G Jones, Hines, Hanson, Reid. Subs: Connell, Hannah, Thompson, McHugh, McArdle, Brown, Duke.
