Colwyn Bay 0 Guiseley 2
The Lions claimed their sixth straight victory in Blue Square North last night with victory in Wales but it was not enough to keep them at the summit.
Guiseley ’s 100 per cent start has been matched by Brackley Town and their 4-1 win at Gloucester City last night saw them climb above Steve Kittrick’s men on goals scored as both have the same goal difference.
Guiseley had to be patient against Colwyn Bay. The first half was goalless but Josh Wilson broke the deadlock just before the hour mark and substitute Stephen Brogan wrapped up the points four minutes from time.
The joint leaders could yet be caught tonight by Chester as they look to keep their perfect start going when they host FC Halifax Town .
Neil Aspin’s Shaymen will be buoyed by Saturday’s convincing 3-1 home victory over Oxford City. A Dale Johnson brace either side of Paul Marshall’s thunderbolt sealed the win, with Town having taken ten points from an available 15 so far.
Chester have won all five of their games and disposed of Solihull Moors 3-0 on Saturday.
