Bradford Park Avenue are in the unusual position of being unbeaten in the league but in need of points from Saturday's away game.
John Deacey’s men have not lost since being promoted to the Blue Square Bet North Division but they have drawn three of their four starts so far.
They will be looking to inject three points into their total this weekend at Corby Town.
The Northamptonshire outfit are rock bottom in the division and are the only club yet to pick up a point this season.
They have shipped an average of four goals per game but have found the target only once.
Deacey has been happy with his team’s displays but has been hampered by injures. He had two players coming into the season with knocks, lost three more in the first game and then had one of his centre back’s out for the last game.
James Riley sat out Monday’s Bank Holiday home draw against neighbours and rivals FC Halifax Town as an unused substitute.
Deacey’s options were such that he had to make the bench up with walking wounded, although striker Danny Holland shook off his early-season knee injury and scored the equaliser against his former club.
The Bradford boss said: “I was delighted with that performance (against Halifax) but we let ourselves down with the odd individual error.
“They are a very good side and at times they had a lot of possession but I thought they didn’t create a lot of chances against us.
"We came into the game and probably did more then they did in that department and we deserved a draw at the very least.
“Silly mistakes, players slipping, poor back-passes - we made our own problems. We have to do better but once again I thought our attacking play, creativity from the midfield and overall effort was all there.”
Bradford and Corby have history but it will be their first meeting for 54 years.
Corby Town were in the Midland League back in 1958 and they faced Avenue’s reserves (their first team were in the Football League) home and away for six seasons.
Avenue owe their hosts one because the last clash - March 29 1958 - was won 2-0 by the Northants outfit.
