Mill Lane produced the shock of the season so far yesterday when they hosted West Bowling in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division.

They went into the interval 2-0 up following strikes from Sean Hamilton and Liam Charles.

The visitors came back into the match in the second period and levelled matters but in the closing minutes a well-taken header from Sean Brennan earned Mill Lane one of their biggest scalps in only their second season of top-flight football.

Newly-promoted Thornton United had a late Ryan Canning wonder goal to thank for securing three points against Queensbury.

Paul Allison hit a superb hat-trick for Dudley Hill Rangers in a 6-1 victory over Baildon Trinity, while Sandy Lane secured their third successive win when they beat Bradford Skip Hire 3-1.

Despite skipper Aidan Day scoring for Wyke Wanderers, it did not stop Bolton Woods from continuing with their impressive start to the season, winning 3-1.

At Arkwright Street, it was a father and son battle of the managers in the First Division when Alan Morley senior's Tyersal entertained his son's charges Peel Park, and honours and bragging rights were even after a terrific match.

The hosts had a man dismissed after ten minutes for deliberate handball in the penalty area, and that gave Morley junior's team the early breakthrough.

But he was firmly put in his place before the interval when strikes by Ben Kendall and Jamie McKewan gave Tyersal a half-time lead.

McKewan added his second after the break but the ten men could not hold on and the visitors scored two late goals. Peel Park’s scorers were Brian Carr, Anthony Hannan and Steve Smith.

Chris Durn, with a brace, and Peter Reynolds crowned a good display by Cuedos Rangers in the first half but in the second they struggled but still managed to win by the odd goal in five against Manningham.

Stanningley Albion hit six goals in the battle of the promoted clubs against Buttershaw Celtic, with strikes from Adam Jarrett with a brace and one each from Andrew Kenyon, Chris Cairns, Jordan Smith and Danny Kemp.

Victoria Rangers were down to nine men when Theo Bujra hit the winner against George Hotel after Nick Walker and David Geddis had put them in front.

In Division 1A, Undercliffe beat Dog and Gun 3-1, with Neil Murray and Nick Scullion and a Dog and Gun defender scoring an own goal, while in Division 1B, Nick Mansell is normally a goalkeeper for Wrose Bull but he played up front and bagged a hat-trick for his team but unfortunately his defence let Inter Mill Lane put six past them.

In Division 2B, Grass Greener United's Ben Crawley got onto the scoresheet but unfortunately Delius replied with five goals, with Ashley Firth and Ashley Delaney hitting a brace each for the winners.

There were lots of goals in Division 3A, but Horse and Farrier (aka Hare and Hounds) were the leading scorers, reaching double figures against Oddfellows Celtic, with man of the match Craig Ricketts hitting four and Adam Hanson bagging a hat-trick.

But even those goalscoring feats were surpassed by Cuedos Reserves' Mark Buxton, who hit five against Bradford Moor.

Bankfoot Lions had a 3-1 victory over Heaton Kings Arms, with Nick Brooksbank, Ashley King and Brad Osborne scoring for the hosts and Robert Elliott replying for the visitors with a penalty kick.

In Division 3B, Eccleshill Punjab secured their first league victory with a 4-2 success over Queens Hotel, with Jorden Campbell, Calum Shah, Buldav Baines and man of the match Taran Singh netting.
