New Albion Sports first-team coach Pav Singh is hoping his vast experience in non-league and high- coaching qualifications will be essential in moving the club he holds dear forward.

“I have already said that this is a new challenge for me but I have the time and I really want to help this club and put something back,” said the former Bradford City Youth and Leeds United Academy coach.

Singh played for Sports when they were a Sunday League club, while also representing several local non-league outfits.

Since then he has worked through his coaching badges and is rightly proud of his achievements.

Singh added: “I hold a UEFA A licence, of which there are only about a thousand in this country, I have been told that there are only two Asians but I haven’t checked that. It doesn’t matter to me - all I care about is my qualification and how I use it.

“I have just started as a sports lecturer at Leeds College, which is a full-time role, and before that I was working with the West Riding County FA coaching the coaches.

"I have worked closely with Mark Jackson (Farsley assistant manager and Leeds College head coach) and he is a good friend of mine.

“I spent some time playing at Farsley Celtic when Martin Haresign was manager, and later when Eugene Lacy was there.

"I was in the Liversedge team under Eugene that went on that long FA Cup run a few years back. I also had a few seasons at Harrogate Town, so I know my way around the football pyramid and want to use all that to help Albion.”
