Salts started life back in the Premier Division by taking a well-earned West Riding County Amateur League point at Tyersal last night.

Kyle Berry equalised after Andrew Bailey had given Tyersal an early advantage.

Overthorpe, who finished third in Division One last season but were elected to take the place of Brighouse Town, visit Salts on Saturday.

Tyersal visit last season’s Division One champions Lepton Highlanders, who opened their account with a 4-3 win at Overthorpe, while Steeton , who won their opening game 3-2 at Campion, entertain Storthes Hall.

The latter side opened their season with a 4-0 success over Huddersfield neighbours Golcar United.

Wibsey and Lower Hopton, who were both relegated from the top flight last season, clash in Division One.

Hopton made sure of an early bonus when they beat Halifax Irish 3-1 in midweek.

Hunsworth, who had to settle for a point with a 1-1 Wednesday draw against Albion Sports, host Wakefield City.

Campion Reserves, after securing promotion from Division Two last season, visit Ventus-Yeadon Celtic.
