Albion Sports kick started their season tonight with a 4-0 victory at Shirebrook Town in Baris Northern Counties East League Division One.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s men had taken just one point from their first two league games, so their three points here was very welcome.

Karl Hall headed the only goal of the first half and Josh Cook added to it after the break with another header.

Graham Sides broke through midway through the second half and rounded the home keeper, who handled outside the area and was dismissed before Asif Hussain netted the resulting free-kick. Lee Maturine added the last goal.

Eccleshill United were beaten 3-2 at home by Clipstone Welfare in the same division.

Charlie Flaherty gave the Eagles the lead and Clifford Lyle levelled in the second half but they still failed to hold on.
