Vauxhall Motors 1, Bradford Park Avenue 3
Bradford Park Avenue picked up their first Blue Square Bet North win after running out 3-1 winners at Vauxhall Motors.
Avenue drew their first game of the season and built on that with a win on their travels.
Nathan Hotte broke the deadlock midway through the first half and the midfielder was instrumental in his side’s second just before the break.
Hotte battled to win possession and pulled the ball back for Danny Holland to slot in.
Soon after the break it was 3-0 to the visitors thanks to Matty James but Avenue could not manage a clean sheet.
A free-kick after the hour mark found the Motormen’s James Ellison and he lashed home on the half-volley.
Meanwhile, neighbours Guiseley made it six points from their first two games as they followed up a weekend win on the road with a 7-1 demolition of Droylsden at Nethermoor.
Nicky Boshell began the scoring and Josh Wilson scored the Lions’ second before Boshell doubled his tally.
Danny Ellis was the next to register as Guiseley took a 4-0 lead into the break.
A penalty for the home side saw Gavin Rothery make it five, before the visitors hit back with a spot-kick of their own.
But late goals for Wilson and new signing Stephen Brogan wrapped thing up.
Colwyn Bay secured maximum points from their first two games after winning 1-0 at FC Halifax Town .
Striker Kevin Holsgrove scored the only goal, striking from distance midway through the second half.
In a game largely dominated by the Shaymen, with Seddon, Johnson and Gregory all going close, the visitors struck a sucker-punch with just over 20 minutes remaining.
Former Halifax player Holsgrove turned away from his marker and finished accurately from 22 yards, giving goalkeeper Matt Glennon no chance.
