Brighouse Town turned in a five-star performance to go nap at home to Tadcaster Albion in the Baris Northern Counties East Premier Division.

Town did not have it all there own way as their visitors took the lead through Chris Kamara in the first minute. Town hit back almost straight away with Tom Matthews levelling in the fourth minute and the same player put Town in front midway through the first half.

Danny Nadiole added Town’s third before Taddy were awarded a penalty, however, home keeper Tom Taylor saved the spot kick from namesake Terry Taylor. Leon Henry increased Town’s lead and Sam Akroyd made it 5-1 in stoppage time.

Liversedge remain one of the teams to beat as a 3-2 win at Hall Road Rangers ensured their maximum start, nine points from three games, continued. Joe Jagger hit a brace and Kieran Corley also netted as Sedge racked up a 3-0 half-time lead but Rangers hit back with goals from Matty Flynn and Paul Wilson.

Thackley were the only one of the three local representatives in the division to drop any points as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Dennyfield by Barton Town Old Boys.

Barton were first out of the blocks and Ray Ford slotted them into a 12th-minute lead. Ashley Dexter was on the end of a 41st-minute corner to stab the ball past home keeper Mark Bower as the visitors took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Thackley were without leading scorer Mark Bett and were reeling from John Mallinson’s early exit with a hamstring injury but they rallied. Chris Davey chested down a ball into the area before squeezing past two defenders to shoot and the comeback was completed eight minutes from time when Brice Tiani thumped a sumptuous left foot shot past the visiting keeper.

In the lower tier Eccleshill United were playing only their second league game and they made it their first three point maximum of the new season with a 2-1 win away at Teversal. Clifford Lyle and Lee Hill were on target early as the Eagles opened a two-goal lead but the home side struck back through Shaun Tuton midway through the first half.

Silsden were also victors in the North West Counties Premier Division, beating newly promoted Norton United 2-0 at home.

The Cobbydalers raced into the lead when Mike Garrod rounded the visitors’ keeper before slotting home and they doubled their advantage after the half hour when Elliot Holmes fired in after being put through by Danny Bryan.
