Thackley assistant manager Sean Regan has left Dennyfield and swapped non-league football for the full-time game for a second time.
Having been No 2 with the Dennyboys previously, he took the manager’s role at neighbours Liversedge.
He was there for just one season before taking up a full-time coaching position at Scunthorpe.
Now he has been tempted again but this time for a part-time position at an unnamed Premier League outfit.
Regan and Thackley released a joint statement in which Regan said, “I have been given a great opportunity to coach at one of the biggest clubs in the world - certainly the biggest in my eyes - on a part-time basis.
“It is therefore with deep regret that I have resigned from my post at Thackley FC due to my commitments, and I wish Thackley all the best in the coming years because they are definitely a progressive club.”
He came to Thackley for his first spell some years ago to gain the necessary experience while he was working towards his UEFA A licence.
Regan said: “It has been a fantastic experience that I will never forget. It seems like I have been around the block working at grass-roots, non-league and at professional clubs but it is all good experience and I see this as another new venture.”
Regan was alongside Dennyboys’ manager Vince Brockie in the dug-out for last Saturday’s 1-0 win at Maltby Main but will be replaced by former Bantams’ youth striker Andy Patterson this weekend.
Patterson began his career with Thackley before joining Bradford City, where he played in the Premier League Reserves Division for his home-town club.
Patterson did not make a senior appearance for City but he went on to have spells in the Scottish League. He has worked alongside Mick Watson in charge of Eccleshill United’s first team and the reserves at Dennyfield.
Thackley spokesman Mick Lodge said: “Vinny and Sean sat down and talked after the offer came Sean’s way.
"There was a chance he could have stayed with us because his role is only part-time but after chewing it over they both decided that it would take a lot of Sean’s time.
“He can’t commit 100 per cent so it was decided that it would be better to have a clean break and for Vinny to get another assistant.
"Vinny turned straight to Andy, who was already here at the club, and asked him to become the new No 2 for the first team.”
