Guiseley beat FC Halifax Town 1-0 in a tough West Riding County Cup derby at Nethermoor last night to book a place against Farsley in the semi-finals.
The Lions created by far the better chances. First-half efforts by Mark Bower, Simon Ainge, Danny Forrest, Joe O’Neill and James Walshaw went begging.
They finally struck the all-important goal six minutes after the break. It was a strike worth waiting for as Danny Boshell fired a left-footed drive into the top corner.
Farsley also won 1-0 last night. They made the short journey to Garforth Town and edged a tight tie when Simeon Bambrook rifled home a 30-yard screamer four minutes into the second half.
