There could be movement in the jockeying for position to be the leading local Baris Northern Counties East League club on Saturday.
Brighouse TOWN currently hold the bragging rights as they are eighth in the Premier Division, just one place above neighbours Thackley.
Both clubs face away games this weekend but would expect to win them and maintain the status quo.
Town travel to Arnold Town, who are only four places lower but Paul Quinn’s men are nearer the top of the table in terms of points (14) than they are to their hosts (15).
They will also be buoyant after returning to winning ways with a 6-0 win over basement outfit Selby Town last time out.
If Brighouse slip up then waiting to pounce will be Thackley, who travel to face a Maltby Main side who are ten places below them just above Selby.
The Dennyboys average just over one and a half points per game, while Maltby’s equivalent haul is just above half a point.
LIVERSEDGE, on the other hand, have home advantage this weekend but face a visit from fifth-placed Tadcaster Albion.
Sedge lost last weekend but were much better than the 4-1 scoreline at seventh-placed Parkgate suggested.
They took the lead and came close to adding to that on several occasions before two goals in as many minutes midway through the second half took the game away from them.
The two local clubs in Division One both lost ground last weekend, even though only one of them played.
ALBION SPORTS had no scheduled fixture and had seen their previous three league games postponed, with that enforced inactivity seeing them tumble from second in the table to fourth.
They are due a rare home game on Saturday and will be strong favourites to beat struggling Bottesford Town.
ECCLESHILL UNITED lost 2-0 at leaders Pontefract Collieries last Saturday but have a chance to take points off another of their promotion rivals when they host Handsworth.
The Eagles are seventh and seven points behind their third-placed visitors but have two games in hand.
