Guiseley and Brighouse Town were frustrated tonight but two of the local semi-pro clubs will be hoping their games tomorrow night get the go-ahead.
The Lions were due to host Harrogate Town in a Blue Square Bet North Division derby held over from New Year’s Day.
However, today’s sub-zero temperatures meant a second postponement for the fixture.
After the original date suffered a washout, last night’s game was postponed because of a frozen pitch at Nethermoor.
Brighouse were due to play a Baris Northern Counties East League Cup third-round tie at nearby AFC Emley but that was another derby that was frozen out.
Tomorrow night, Bradford Park Avenue and Albion Sports have fixtures, and although Avenue’s is only a friendly they will be keen to play.
Bradford boss John Deacey signed forward Nicky Matthews from Thackley at the weekend and tomorrow's game at Tadcaster Albion will be a perfect opportunity to give him a run-out.
Albion have the rarity of a home fixture – their first since Boxing Day – and they could close the gap on Baris Northern Counties East League Division One leaders Pontefract Collieries to just one point with a win over Dinnington Town.
Whatever the result, Albion will still have four games in hand on Brendan Ormsby’s side – if the game is played.
Sports’ last three fixtures have fallen victim to the weather, making it seven postponements in total so far for the season!
