Michael Flynn today revealed the agony behind the severe stomach virus that has knocked him out for nearly a month.
The City skipper spent Christmas stuck in hospital with chronic gastritis and went back in again last week.
He has lost over a stone and a half and is only just able now to eat without being sick.
At one stage, Flynn was vomiting five or six times a day because of the condition, which is caused by inflammation of the stomach lining.
The Welshman admitted: “It has been an absolute nightmare. I thought it was never going to end.
“I was just constantly retching until there was nothing left. I couldn’t even drink water because even the fluids weren’t staying down. It wasn’t until Saturday morning that I finally stopped being sick.”
