The accident and emergency department at Bradford Royal Infirmary have won the first NHS Five-a-side League at Speedball in Bradford.
Organiser Sean Regan said: “People of all ages have been given the opportunity to use this league to get fit and to socialise with others, including raising their profile as football players.
“We hope that the next league will be just as successful, and we would encourage more teams to sign up.”
Meanwhile, Regan is launching a veterans’ eight-a-side league and cup competition at Marley Activities and Coaching Centre in Keighley.
Players aged 38 or over can compete, and matches – which are played on Monday nights from May 14 onwards – last for 50 minutes.
