City are keeping their fingers crossed that Luke Oliver’s injury will not be as bad as they first feared.
Oliver limped out of Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Morecambe with a hamstring problem.
And initial reports suggested he could be out of action for around a month.
But the injury has settled down to leave the club cautiously optimistic that he could be back within ten days.
Oliver faces a medical scan tomorrow which will reveal more but Phil Parkinson said: “It doesn’t look too serious. It’s certainly not a major tear.
“He’s obviously going to be a doubt for Saturday but we’re hoping it’s something that won’t keep him out for long.”
The City chief believes Rob Kozluk is “50-50” for this weekend’s home clash with Burton. Ricky Ravenhill’s ankle remains swollen after turning it in the warm-up and he is not expected to return to training until Thursday.
