Luke Oliver’s injury may force Phil Parkinson to look for more defensive reinforcements during the transfer window.
The giant centre half, City’s most consistent player this season, could face a month on the sidelines with a damaged hamstring.
New boy Rob Kozluk hopes his early departure from Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Morecambe was down to serious cramp and nothing more.
City will know more on the state of both defenders today but Parkinson admits he may have to push the board to ask for back-up.
“Luke has been outstanding for us but the pitch is heavy, the training ground’s heavy and you’re always susceptible to those injuries,” he said.
“We’re a little bit down to the bare bones defensively so I might have to be speaking to the chairmen again.”
