Three West Riding County Amateur League sides are through to the last 16 of the COUNTY FA CHALLENGE CUP.

But while Campion, Lepton Highlanders and Storthes Hall all made progress, heavy rain caused another three ties involving County Amateur League sides to be postponed.

Andy Benjamin was the hero for Campion as his hat-trick earned a 3-0 win at West Yorkshire League Division One side Aberford Albion. Next up is a trip to Beeston St Anthony’s in January.

Ovenden West Riding were left to rue missing a series of chances as they bowed out 1-0 at home to Storthes Hall, with Eddie Szostak on target.

Fellow Huddersfield side Lepton put their Division One title aspirations to one side as they advanced with a 2-0 home victory over Springhead.

The three postponed games – Golcar United v Brighouse Town, Marsden v Carlton Athletic and Stump Cross v Hunsworth – have been rearranged for this Saturday.

The County Amateur League have only one surviving representative in the WEST RIDING COUNTY FA CHALLENGE TROPHY, with Huddersfield YMCA making comfortable 11-0 progress at home to Cowling Reserves.

League action saw Tyersal return from PREMIER DIVISION title rivals Kirkburton with a 2-0 victory courtesy of Glynn Beale’s strike and an own goal.

This lifted Tyersal up to joint-second place – level on points with Golcar United and just one adrift of leaders Ovenden West Riding, who have a game in hand.

With Wibsey’s home game against relegation rivals Hall Green United postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Lower Hopton took advantage with a 1-0 home win over rock-bottom Littletown to climb eight points clear of second-bottom Wibsey.

Salts climbed to second in DIVISION ONE after crushing basement side Halifax Irish 6-0, with Kyle Berry netting four of the goals to add to strikes by Mike Newall and Chris Sykes.

Overthorpe drop to third after losing 3-1 at Bay Athletic Reserves, who are now just a point behind them albeit having played three games more.

Dudley Hill Rangers, who lost 2-1 at home to Westbrook YMCA, and Bronte Wanderers, who went down 3-2 to visiting Wakefield City, occupy the two places just above Halifax Irish.

DIVISION TWO is now down to ten teams after the resignation of Marsden Reserves was accepted and the table rearranged to delete their record.

With Huddersfield YMCA in County FA Challenge Trophy action, Albion Sports took over at the summit after beating West Horton 4-1. Goals from Jatinder Singh, Chris Gibson, Ryan Aujla and Temour Khan outweighed Mohammed Shafiq’s reply.

Tyersal Reserves had both Alan Morley senior and junior on target in their 3-2 home win over Steeton Reserves. Jamie McEwen scored the other Tyersal goal as they climbed to third place, with Adam Spencer and Tom Mitchell responding.

Chris Graham and Marcelino Nyanadaro scored twice apiece for Campion Reserves in their 4-1 home victory over Kirkburton Reserves.

DIVISION THREE leaders Littletown Town Reserves extended their unbeaten league run to ten games by defeating Lower Hopton’s second string 4-0.
