The boot was on the other foot as Thackley gained swift revenge on Lincoln Moorlands Railway with an injury-time winner in a seven-goal thriller at Dennyfield in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

The sides had met in the reverse fixture the previous Saturday, when Lincoln netted a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw.

The sequel produced even more drama.

Chris Davey gave the Dennyboys a 1-0 lead and Ben Garrick equalised before Brice Tiani restored the home side’s advantage.

Mark Bett added a third for good measure before the break.

A Lee Beesley strike and a penalty from Sean Cann had the sides level pegging again, then Andy Philp settled it two minutes into time added on.

Rivals Liversedge almost pulled off the shock result of the day as they led 3-0 at leaders Scarborough Athletic with 18 minutes to go. The home side mounted a late comeback and snatched a point from a 3-3 draw.

Nathan Cartman and Jamie Wasley had given Sedge a 2-0 half-time lead with goals five minutes apart midway through that first period. There were 70 minutes on the clock when Alex Hallam hit Sedge’s third but Patrick Miller kicked off the fightback and goals from Matt Draper and Ryan Blott – in the penultimate minute – robbed the visitors of what would have been a memorable victory.

Albion Sports remain joint top in Division One after another goal-fest, this time a 6-4 win at Hallam.

Albion took the lead through Aron Heywood in the fourth minute but the home side were back on terms through Liam Harris.

The second half saw eight goals rain in. Albion’s Anil Singh claimed the first, with team-mate Jamie Bairstow soon following.

Aaron Moxam pulled one back for Hallam before Sports’ Alex Cusack hit a quickfire double.

A brace from Jonathan Bownes brought it back to 5-4 but Albion dug deep again and Micha Bleau wrapped up the scoring.

Eccleshill United were beaten 5-3 at Worksop Parramore, who remain locked in combat with Albion at the summit.

The Eagles twice took the lead, with Josh Wright opening the scoring with the only goal of the first half.

Tom Nolan levelled before Charlie Flaherty put United back in front. Just minutes later, Nolan fired in his second.

Goals from Gavin Davis and Lee Thompson put the home side 4-2 up and strikes in the last minute from Scott Preece and the Eagles’ Marcus Edwards cancelled each other out.
