Phil Parkinson unveiled an unchanged side as City looked to make it to the FA Cup third round for the first time since 2004.
Kyel Reid had recovered from the sickness bug that had been troubling the dressing room. So Parkinson had the luxury of keeping the starting line-up that played so well the previous week at Gillingham.
Andrew Davies and Ricky Ravenhill were both able to play after City were given permission by their parent clubs Stoke and Notts County.
Luke O'Brien, Luke Dean and Jack Compton were among the seven substitutes - as well as first-round hero Nahki Wells.
CITY: McLaughlin, Ramsden, Oliver, Davies, Seip, Fagan, Ravenhill, Flynn, Reid, Hannah, Hanson. Subs: O'Brien, Compton, Dean, Wells, Moore, Devitt, Duke.
