The two derbies in the West Riding County Cup second round went in favour of the higher-ranking clubs tonight as Farsley AFC and FC Halifax Town won through to the quarter-finals.
Both were away from home but edged their ties by the odd goal.
Farsley were at Eccleshill United, and Dominic Krief gave them the lead and netted a late winner after Victor Balas had levelled for the home side.
Brighouse lost the battle of the towns as Halifax won 3-2.
Shane Hamilton got both Brighouse goals, while Jason St Juste, Jamie Rainford and Reece Richardson were on target for the Shaymen.
Farsley face Garforth Town and Halifax journey to Guiseley in the last eight.
