In what was a wet and windy weekend for local football, the Bradford Sunday Alliance League clubs did a fantastic job in getting matches played, with the league only losing three matches from a full programme.
With nearest challengers West Bowling's match postponed at Queensbury, Buttershaw White Star increased their lead at the top of the Premier Division to nine points with a hard-earned victory at wind-swept Bolton Woods.
Graeme Sides opened the scoring for White Star after just 30 seconds, following good work by John Selby and Ben O’Melia.
The latter increased the lead midway into the second half before the hosts pulled one back through Peter Dawson but Selby restored the two-goal lead immediately afterwards. Despite pressure from the home attack in the closing stages the leaders' defence stood firm.
Dudley Hill opened up a gap at the bottom of the table after sharing the points and two goals at Relay Recruitment Rovers.
Ventus Sports were cast further adrift, however, after going down 6-0 at home to Mill Lane.
Thornton United increased their lead at the top of Division One by dumping Manningham into the basement position with an 8-1 thrashing, with braces from Lee Taylor and Dave Wilson being among the scorers.
Oakenshaw moved up into third, winning 4-2 at Sandy Lane and leap-frogging their opponents in the process.
Allerton moved away from the bottom of the table, sharing four goals and the points in a terrific match at promotion contenders Peel Park.
With goalkeeper Dave Gill in fine form for Tyersal against his former club Cuedos Rangers, the match seemed to be heading for a 1-1 stalemate but, with 15 seconds of added time played, Chris Durne put the visitors ahead.
But the men from Arkwright Street mounted one last challenge and were awarded a penalty kick that man of the match Ben Kendall slotted home to give the hosts a share of the points.
