Phil Parkinson wielded the axe at Gillingham this afternoon with five changes from the City side beaten by Rotherham.
Luke O'Brien, Jack Compton, Nahki Wells, Chris Mitchell and Steve Williams all paid the price.
Simon Ramsden was fit again and came in at right back with Seip moving to the left to accommodate Andrew Davies, returning from his four-game ban.
Kyel Reid was recalled on the left wing with Craig Fagan playing right midfield.
Parkinson had hoped to field Paul Benson up front but that plan fell apart with the dramatic events of Thursday.
So instead it meant a chance for James Hanson and Ross Hannah to press their own claims.
CITY: McLaughlin, Seip, Oliver, Davies, Ramsden, Fagan, Flynn, Ravenhill, Reid, Hannah, Hanson. Subs: Mitchell, Wells, Moore, Devitt, Duke.
