A run of three straight North West Counties League wins has distanced Silsden from the Premier Division stragglers but the Cobbydalers need another positive result to stay above Saturday’s opponents.
Runcorn Linnets travel to the ASDA Foundation Stadium trailing their hosts by just a single point, while they have also played three games fewer.
So even though the 14-placed Cobbydalers are on a roll they still need a victory to pull away from the Linnets, who are directly below them in the table.
Silsden secretary Jim Rosser said: “We are still struggling to score (just 20 goals in 16 games to date) but Andy Lee, Joe Gaughan and John Douglas have all scored twice over the last three games and we have kept three clean sheets.
“The best thing is, though, that these victories have been earned by good all-round team performances. It has been hard but it looks like we are turning the corner.”
