A new website devoted to football in Keighley is attracting a global audience.

Keighley Kicks – www.keighleykicks.co.uk – was set up by Haworth-based journalist Steve Penny at the end of June.

Although the vast majority of visitors to the site have come from the UK, many are from as far afield as Australia, Brazil and India, with visitors from more than 60 other countries already recorded.

Penny, 47, said: “I enjoy following lower level football and decided to expand my ‘hobby’ online.

“I’ve only recently moved to the area and noticed that, although there seemed to be a lot of football activity going on, it was hard to find out easily from one source.

“I have been overwhelmed by the response with more than 20 local clubs now actively involved in keeping Keighley Kicks up to date with all that’s happening on the local scene.”
