Bradford Park Avenue have an early chance to get their FA Cup hiding out of their system tomorrow night.
The Horsfall outfit visit Stocksbridge Park Steels in the third round of a lesser-known knockout competition – the Doodson Sports Cup.
Bradford boss John Deacey summed up their FA Cup run – which ended with an 8-1 hammering at AFC Totton as Avenue finished the game with nine men – with a simple post on the club’s website.
“It has been a series of ups with one massive down. Me and the players are still hurting,” he said.
Tomorrow night’s Evo-Stik League cup tie at Stocksbridge, who are third from bottom in the Premier Division, is an ideal chance to restore confidence.
Farsley had a rare away win in the Evo-Stik Division One North at the weekend and will be looking to build on that in their derby at home to Harrogate Railway.
In the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division, Thackley are at home to Armthorpe Welfare.
The Dennyboys held leaders Bridlington Town to a draw at the weekend and they will need another positive result as Armthorpe trail them by six points but have two games in hand.
Liversedge should also have had a home fixture but their opponents Nostell MW have to fulfil a Sheffield and Hallamshire County Cup tie.
However, in Division One Albion Sports are back in action following a blank Saturday. Albion know victory tomorrow night would earn them a share on the leadership but the travel to AFC Emley expecting a tough encounter.
