Farsley boss Neil Parsley was disappointed that his side were unable to beat ten men last weekend but had praise for his opposite number.

Parsley’s men lost 2-1 at home to Evo-Stik League Division One North leaders Skelmersdale United after the game was goalless when the visitors had a man sent off.

“We should have got the three points but we ended with nothing yet again,” said Parsley.

“I was more annoyed at the fact that their lad could have gone earlier because he took out Gareth Grant just outside the area.”

Skelmersdale’s former Manchester United starlet David Chadwick was the guilty man. He was shown a yellow card for that offence and another just before half-time.

Parsley said: “We all thought he was the last man so therefore the foul had prevented a goal-scoring opportunity when he pulled Granty down. That, I believe, was a red-card offence but the referee was adamant he had called it right.

“Skem are a good side, no doubt about it, but I just hope my players play as well for me as they did for Tommy Lawson last Saturday if it ever happens to us because once they went down to ten men they doubled their efforts.

“We can’t apportion blame to any individual that we didn’t win the game, so we have to work harder ourselves and create our own luck.

“We could have had nine or ten more points than we have because we have been playing well. I’m sure it will come and we are capable of putting a very good run together and picking up points.”
