Wibsey hauled themselves off the foot of the PREMIER DIVISION table with a 4-3 home victory over fellow West Riding County Amateur League strugglers Lower Hopton.
Phil Brogan’s hat-trick and a goal by Joe Crossland proved decisive for Wibsey, with Mick Hall (2) and Mick Clark responding. Golcar United climbed to the top of the table after a 4-2 win at Hall Green United, with Simon Rawnsley netting all the Huddersfield outfit’s goals.
With most of their DIVISION ONE rivals playng in the County Cup, Salts moved up to third place as Lee Grice’s goal earned a 1-0 win at Tingley Athletic. In DIVISION TWO, goals by William Lee and Adam Spencer enabled Steeton Reserves to win 2-0 at fellow mid-table side Rawdon Old Boys.
But Tyersal Reserves were soundly beaten 6-1 at home by Kirkburton Reserves, with Jamie McEwen netting the second-half consolation goal.
