Albion Sports were held to their first goalless draw of the season at Hemsworth Miners’ Welfare but they remain top of Northern Counties East Division One on goal difference.
Handsworth’s victory sees them join Albion on 33 points from 17 games.
Sports boss Kulwinder Sandhu said: “It was a dull game to be honest, with both teams cancelling each other out.
“It was a difficult game and the conditions were heavy, which meant few chances. Their keeper had nothing to do while ours made just a couple of stops.
“With us going top last week, I think everyone else steps their game up. Everyone wants to beat the leaders don’t they? But a point away from home, we will take that.”
