Silsden face yet another tough task in the North West Counties League Premier Division this weekend as they host Winsford United, who could go top with a win.
In three of their last four league games, the Cobbydalers have faced Runcorn Town, who were sixth, rivals Barnoldswick Town, who were fourth, and Flixton, who were second.
Third-placed Winsford are just one point behind the two clubs above them.
If recent results are anything to go by, the chances are that there will only be one goal in it whoever wins at the Asda Foundation Stadium.
Silsden spokesman Jim Rosser said: “Four of our last five games have finished 1-0. Unfortunately, only one was in our favour, so we are not quite Arsenal just yet!
“The only one of those five games that wasn’t a 1-0 was our last, which was Tuesday’s defeat at Garforth Town in the County Cup.
That finished 3-2, Andy Lee getting among the goals for Silsden, who produced an encouraging display.
Rosser said: “There were signs that Silsden were picking up in that game but, despite the good football, we lost with two late goals.”
