Kyel Reid insists City should forget any feelings of ref rage in their battle to scramble up the table.

The Bantams have been left fuming by officials in the last two games – over the penalty decision for Macclesfield and Andrew Davies’ second red card on Saturday.

They also accused referee Rob Lewis of allegedly swearing at Craig Fagan during the Moss Rose game.

But Reid believes there is nothing to be gained from harbouring a grudge with the men in the middle.

He said: “It’s frustrating that we’ve had some decisions go against us but that’s the way it goes.

“The standard of officials isn’t so good (compared with the higher divisions) but sometimes it works in your favour, sometimes it doesn’t.

“That’s just part and parcel of football and you’ve got to get on with it. You can’t go round blaming the refs.”

The exciting winger has no reason to complain about his City move after quickly establishing himself as a real favourite at Valley Parade. Phil Parkinson’s first signing has noticed a big difference in himself after playing the last 13 games.

“I’m more than happy here. I couldn’t ask for a better start from the fans, the manager and my team-mates – everyone is giving me a positive boost.

“It’s my first full season when I’ve played so many games on the bounce and I’m feeling a lot sharper. Hopefully I will keep improving with each week.

“I didn’t even do a proper pre-season and was pushed straight into the team. I still had to gain a bit of match fitness in the process but that is there now and I’m really enjoying it.

“Every game for us now is a big one but I feel we’ve gelled together well. We know we’ve got to work harder for each other and hopefully grind the points out.

“A few of the boys are saying this is the best Bradford squad they’ve seen. It’s a massive club with a great fanbase and as players we’ve got to do it justice.”
