It’s as you were at the Bradford Sunday Alliance League summit after unbeaten duo Buttershaw White Star and West Bowling drew their first PREMIER DIVISION clash of the season 1-1.

Defending champions Bowling had to show their defensive qualities after taking the lead as current leaders White Star created more chances in an entertaining encounter.

Joe Jagger struck from outside the box after only ten minutes but Steve Hollingworth equalised with a close-range header.

The draw leaves Buttershaw still a point clear at the top having played a game more – but it enabled Westwood Park to close the gap on Bowling to three points after their 9-2 romp against Ventus Sports.

Baildon Trinity Athletic took all three points from a bruising encounter with bottom side Queensbury, who missed out 3-1.

A Tom Higman through ball was converted by Andrew Radosevic as Baildon took an interval lead, which they doubled on 53 minutes when Radosevic turned provider for Luke Hudson to smash home.

Winger Lee Newhall made it three five minutes later with a superb long-range shot into the far top corner, before the visitors were awarded a penalty and Lee Ashforth sent Danny Milner the wrong way.

Milner was brought into action again in the later stages, making two good saves to deny Queensbury any further reward.

Bolton Woods held a two-goal lead at home to Mill Lane with just 13 minutes left but a devastating onslaught, including a brace from man of the match Wayne Davies, enabled the visitors to hit back and win 3-2.

Wyke Wanderers climbed above Woods into fourth place with a 5-2 victory over Relay Recruitment Rovers.

Thornton United moved a point clear at the top of DIVISION ONE with a 4-0 win at cellar dwellers Allerton.

Peel Park had been level with Thornton but dropped to third place after being edged out 6-5 in a thriller at home to Oakenshaw.

It could have been worse for Park as they were 6-1 down before Alan Morley junior scored four times in reply.

Sandy Lane climbed to second with a 4-3 victory at Tyersal after hitting back from two goals down at the interval. Stuart Cotterill hit all four for the visitors, including a last-minute winner.

White Eagles were coasting at 5-0 up against Ventus United but the referee abandoned the match with five minutes to play when Eagles player Craig Scott broke his leg. His team-mates and all at the Sunday Alliance League wish him a speedy recovery.

DIVISION 1A leaders Buttershaw Celtic had to dig deep to come from behind and win 5-3 at Bradford Phoenix.

An Adam Hughes hat-trick helped bottom side Dog & Gun record their first league win of the season as they beat fellow strugglers Thornbury Celtic 4-2.

Top match in DIVISION 1B saw fourth-placed Oakworth Juniors and leaders Stanningley Albion share the points and four goals at Marley Stadium.

Wrose Bull moved up to second with an 8-1 victory at St Georges, which included a hat-trick by Andy Philp.

Fleece were dislodged from second spot as visiting Lane Ends beat them by the only goal.

The top three DIVISION 2A teams – White Hart, Wrose Albion and Ancient Forresters – all recorded big victories to leave the table much the same.

In DIVISION 2B, a last-minute penalty denied Lidget Green a point against leaders Whitburn Athletic as it finished 2-1.

Steven Jackson hit a hat-trick and Mark Spiers a brace for Beldon Sports as they beat bottom side Stocks Lane United 6-1.

DIVISION 3A leaders Buttershaw Rangers surprisingly dropped points at home to second-bottom Dudley Hill Keys as the team shared ten goals.

This enabled Swaine Green to close the gap at the top to three points as they beat Fleece Clayton 7-2 thanks to a hat-trick and man of the match performance by Elliott Holmes backed up by Alan Spencer’s double.

Cuedos Rangers Reserves were 4-1 winners at basement side Cricketers Arms after a brace each from Scott Reynolds and Dom Healy.

Hare & Hounds stay top of DIVISION 3B after a 4-0 victory at Aire Athletic, with White Swan dropping from second to fifth after losing by the odd goal in seven at Salthorn.

Grass Greener United moved second with a 4-0 win at second-bottom Cycling.

DIVISION FOUR high-fliers Bridge had a struggle against improving bottom side Eccleshill Punjab before pulling clear to win 5-1.
