Rotherham recently complained about Paolo Di Canio’s “circus” antics on the Swindon touchline. But Bantams boss Phil Parkinson does not expect a problem on Saturday.
He said: “That doesn’t really concern myself or Steve (Parkin).
“People might say it’s about Paolo Di Canio but it doesn’t really make much difference to myself. It’s about the 11 players out on the pitch who are important.
“I don’t know Paolo personally but the public perception of him is quite a fiery character. He seems to be containing that well most of the time.
“I’m looking forward to pitting our wits against him. Swindon are a big club in this division, it’s his first taste of management and I imagine he’ll be pleased so far.”
Swindon have moved into the final play-off spot following three straight wins, with clean sheets in all of them.
It will be a tough challenge for a City side without an away victory. But Parkinson also has a couple of personal scores to settle.
“They beat us (Charlton) in the play-offs and obviously my last game before I left was against them as well.
“But I’ve had some good times there. We beat them last year with an excellent performance and I’ve had some success playing against them for Reading, which is a bit of a local rivalry.
“It’s always a decent passing surface and you can get the ball down and play. It’s a big pitch and a good atmosphere.
“We’d love to be going into this game on the back of a positive result from Macclesfield. We’re not but it was a very good performance in the second half and we want to take that positive attitude with us.”
With Robbie Threlfall’s injured thigh ruling him out for at least two weeks, Luke O’Brien makes his first start of the season. Andrew Davies also returns after his ban and could be slotted into a holding midfield role.
Parkinson said: “Andrew can play in a number of positions. He’s got good technical ability and he’s not your old-fashioned centre half who justs heads and kicks everything.
“It’s been difficult for him to miss those three games just as he was getting started but he’s trained hard and kept himself up to speed as much as possible.”
Meanwhile, winger Dominic Rowe’s loan at Barrow has been extended until January. He signed a new contract earlier this week tying him to City until 2013.
