City's away misery continued at Macclesfield tonight after a controversial penalty.
Lewis Chalmers fired the Silkmen to victory from the spot but the Bantams were fuming with referee Rob Lewis over the soft decision.
Ritchie Jones should have scored from City's first attack but after that it was mainly one-way traffic until the break.
Matt Hamshaw and Tony Diagne fired over before Scott Boden clipped the outside of a post.
And Macc were screaming for a penalty when Ross Draper appeared to be clipped by Matt Duke as he seized on Luke Oliver's poor backpass.
Craig Fagan, operating in a wider role on the right, had City's best effort of the first half but Macclesfield had most of the play.
City showed more urgency after the break and thought they should have had a spot-kick when Marcel Seip's shot struck Nat Brown on the arm.
But when referee Lewis did eventually point to the spot it was at the other end for a nothing-looking nudge on Draper by Oliver. Chalmers fired the penalty past Duke.
City pushed strongly for an equaliser but Oliver's last-gasp header flew wide.
