Bradford Park Avenue will try to finish the job they started at the weekend when they travel to Worksop Town tonight for an FA Trophy first qualifying-round replay.
The Bradford club are in FA Cup fourth qualifying-round action this weekend and they had hoped to spend the week preparing for that.
Instead they had to come from a goal down against their Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals to earn a second bite of the cherry in the Trophy.
Avenue do have good away form this season, so conceding home advantage is not a crushing blow, but the closeness of the contest at Horsfall Stadium will be a worry for Avenue boss John Deacey.
“This is definitely a game we didn’t want but the players were poor on Saturday and did not deserve to win,” said Deacey.
“There will be changes to the starting line-up for this game, some of them enforced, and I just hope we can get through it without picking up any more injuries.”
Defender Martin Drury picked up an injury in training prior to Saturday’s game and striker Tom Greaves failed to recover in time following stitches in a facial wound.
“Drury won’t be back and Rob O’Brien (who was substituted early in the second half of the first meeting with Worksop) might not make it. I think we are looking at the weekend before they will be available again,” added Deacey.
The winners of tonight’s replay – there will be a conclusion even if extra-time and penalties are needed – face a trip to Radcliffe Borough in the next round.
