James Hanson wants to set a personal milestone at his “lucky” ground tonight and fire City to their first away win.
The Bantams go to Macclesfield, scene of their last success on the road in April, looking to break their duck for the season.
Hanson hit the only goal last time and returns there full of confidence after notching the winner against Northampton on Saturday.
He said: “I don’t want to jinx it but the past two seasons I’ve scored there. I’ve also got two in two and I’ve never scored in three games in a row so it would be great to do that.
“As a striker, you want to get on a goal-scoring run and I’ll be looking to keep getting in the box, hoping that something will fall my way.
“It was important for me to come back in the side and score on Saturday and now we’re looking to kick on again.
“We haven’t won away this season and they’ve started quite well but we’ve got to go and be positive. Let’s take the game to them, not sit back and let them come at us.”
Hanson was thrilled to make a scoring comeback at Valley Parade after missing three games with a calf injury. And he admits Craig Fagan is a massive help alongside him.
“Saturday didn’t go as well for us as it did at Burton because maybe we got a little bit isolated but we both got a goal so that’s the main thing.
“Fages has got such quality on the ball and he’s always talking to me. Hopefully we can stay fit and get to know each other’s game better.
“I don’t know how long he’ll be here because he’s doing very well at this level but the longer he stays, the better for me and the more I can learn.
“We all know how comfortable he is with the ball so we’ve got to keep giving it to him.”
Hanson, who scored nine last season, has already got five and is reaping the benefit of improved service from Fagan and Kyel Reid.
“The gaffer keeps telling me to get in the box because we’ve got the players here who can put the ball in there.”
