Farsley 2, Curzon Ashton 2 Farsley face a replay at Curzon Ashton tomorrow night after twice coming from behind to rescue a draw in this first FA Trophy qualifying round tie.
They lost at their Evo-Stik Division One North rivals recently but can go with genuine hope of winning this tie at the second attempt after showing dogged determination at Throstle Nest.
Curzon took the lead midway through the first half when a Chris McDonagh header converted a corner. Farsley hit back through debutant Adam Muller when he headed in minutes later.
Curzon went back in front after the break through Matthew Kay but the home side were level when a through-ball from Dominic Krief found Ben Jones and he rounded the keeper before slotting in.
Farsley manager Neil Parsley said: “This is our first excursion in an FA competition since the club was reformed, so we want to stay in it as long as we can. We will take the replay and I think we deserve the second bite at the cherry because both sides huffed and puffed without really creating.
“There was no continuity and all four of the goals were scrappy. We should be okay injurywise for tomorrow but will be without Modu Jobe because he is going to Birmingham City on trial.”
